‘Same Book’ selection for 2015 announced

August 1, 2014

It’s official: The Ages of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker will be the selection for the 2015 “If All of Rochester Read the Same Book” program by Writers & Books. Each year, Writers & Books connects the community with a single book to be read and discussed, followed by the author’s visit to Rochester.

Walker will be in Rochester doing readings, book signings and appearances at local libraries and colleges March 18 to 20, 2015.

Her book follows a girl named Julia, who lives in California with her family, as they and the rest of the world come to terms with an inexplicable change in the Earth’s rotation: One day, it simply begins to slow down. Days and nights each grow longer and longer, while the environment and gravity experience strange changes as well. In the midst of the world’s daily fluctuations, Julia still has to deal with all the ups and downs of normal life, including a first love.
